Dylan Thornton scores Top-5 finish Gateway Dirt Nationals prelim at The Dome

Making the trek to Saint Louis, Dylan Thornton Jr. rolled into The Dome at America's Center (St. Louis, Mo.) on Friday afternoon for his preliminary night of the eighth-annual Gateway Dirt Nationals.

Picking up a heat race victory, Thornton started from the second-row in the 20-lap preliminary feature and finished just off the podium in fourth. He trailed Trevor Neville, Jordan Grabouski, and Trent Young while Kenny Wallace completed the Top-5.

Thornton started on the pole of a qualifier on Saturday afternoon but unfortunately spun while battling for the lead. With a ninth-place DNF, Dylan did not make the finale.
