Thornton ends Clash on the Coast with podium finish at Deep South Speedway
Dylan Thornton trekked to the warmer weather of Florida on Monday afternoon to compete in the IMCA TV Clash on the Coast.
After failing to transfer out of his B-Main on Monday, Thornton joined 54 IMCA Modifieds at the quarter-mile oval on Tuesday where he raced into the $1,000-to-win A-Main with a runner-up finish in his heat. Battling lingering issues from Monday night, Dylan logged a 19th-place outing.
Back in action on Friday, Dylan left the Sunshine State and invaded Deep South Speedway (Loxley, Ala.) for the final two rounds of the week-long miniseries. The Orcutt, California native backed up a fifth-place finish on Friday with a podium run in Saturday's finale. He joined race-winner Joseph Joiner and Austen Becerra on the podium.
