Dylan Thornton ninth in Nippy 50 opener at Maquoketa
Dylan Thornton returned to the driver’s seat of the Kay Motorsports No. 38T Late Model over the weekend as the Nippy 50 kicked off at Maquoketa (IA) Speedway.
After Thursday’s scheduled practice session, Thornton advanced into the MARS Late Model Championship Series opener with a consolation victory. With a $10,000 preliminary payday up for grabs, Dylan marched through the field nine spots in the stacked field to post a ninth-place finish.
Thornton’s Nippy 50 weekend concluded early in the $15,000-to-win A-Main on Saturday with a lap-4 exit in the 50-lap finale.
