Eighth-place finish in Corn State Nationals opener at Davenport
Dylan Thornton returned with the Kay Motorsports team over the weekend for the MARS Late Model Championship Series doubleheader at Davenport Speedway.
After a slow start on Friday, Thornton raced his way into the Corn State Nationals opener via a B-Main, then charged forward 10 positions in the 40-lap feature to finish eighth.
On Saturday, he secured the final transfer spot in his heat race to qualify for the $10,000-to-win weekend finale, where he wrapped up the weekend with a 12th-place finish.
